Summer
With so much coastline, summer really brings Cornwall outdoors.
Sandy beaches can be found all over the county for bucket
and spade extravaganzas and safe swimming for even the littlest
people while the more adventurous are spoilt for choice in
terms of water-sports, with everything from surfing the world-renowned
north coast beaches to sailing around the smuggler creeks
of the south coast.
Windsurfing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, canoeing and paragliding
are just some of the activities on offer while those who tend
towards drier pursuits can enjoy walking, cycling, horse-riding,
golf, theme parks and much more.
Summer evenings don’t stop at beaches, barbecues and
some of the best ice creams in the country however. Cornwall
has a full calendar of events throughout the year and there
is always something happening. Outdoor performance is very
popular – music and theatre are all around. Festivals
and carnivals; shows of every kind in venues of every kind
– there really is something for everyone.
