Perhaps the greatest
feature of this area is the spectacular North Cornwall coast
with its scenery and cliff
walks; safe, sandy beaches like Daymer
Bay and beaches such as Polzeath
renowned for favourable surfing conditions.
A variety of water-sports and fishing trips are available
locally – the closest being at Rock,
which is also just a short ferry trip from the lively harbour
town of Padstow.
Heading inland, the Camel Estuary is a perfect spot for bird
watchers, walkers
and cyclists
of all abilities with the Camel
Trail following the river for 26 miles from Padstow to
Bodmin
via Wadebridge.
Golfers
are spoilt for choice with three first class 18-hole courses
within easy travelling distance and an excellent, pay-as-you-play
9-hole course with a driving range just up the road.
There are a number of historic properties to visit: the National
Trust’s Lanhydrock
House is nearby, as is the privately owned Pencarrow
House, which also hosts an annual ‘Jazz in the Garden’
event.
Cornwall’s mild climate means that gardens
are a speciality of the county and there are many beautiful
ones to see. Of course, for the ultimate botanical experience
there is also the Eden
Project, which is less than an hour’s drive away.
There is something to suit everyone here and we are always
happy to help you get the best from your visit.
